Thankful Thursday 6/13/13

Feeling thankful for:

  • Catholic Heart Work Camp – Seven hardworking, dedicated people from across the country who are spending the week at Church Community Services making an incredible amount of Soup of Success products. In a total of 22 hours, these 7 people assembled 1277 mixes and 84 gift sets, tied and packed 469 mixes, labeled 649 mixes, punched 99 dip bags and 4,000 recipe cards, cut 261 chocolate spoon bags, and wrapped and bowed 14 gift baskets. Plus the singing coming from the production room made us all smile.

  • Sweet strawberries that are growing in the Seed to Feed educational garden!

  • All the wonderful churches that support the mission of our agency.  We celebrated them with an appreciation breakfast this week and enjoyed the morning together. It’s an honor to be partners with them in showing the love of God to our community, some for more than 40 years, and some brand new ones.
  • California Road Missionary Church. A group of their members just came to volunteer for the second time, and they brought a donation of bulk spices, all needed to make our soup, dip, and cookie mixes delish. So helpful on both levels!
